J.P. Morgan Agrees to $25 Million Penalty in Settling SEC Allegations of IPO Abuses.

E-mail correspondence made up much of the evidence that the Securities & Exchange Commission gathered against J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. over allegations that the Wall Street investment bank abused the initial public offering. J.P. Morgan agreed to pay $25 million to settle the charges. (SEC v. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., D.D.C., No. 1:03CV02028, 10/1/03).
