For the last 8 years, Litigation Solutions, Inc. (LSI) has proudly held events for Children’s Hospital Colorado and Denver Kids Inc. This year’s event (our 4th annual in support of Children’s Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders) was held at the Epernay Lounge in Denver, where attendees participated in a silent auction from Wow Events Denver and heard from a special speaker, Kimberly Arnold and her wonderful daughter Addie, who has Down syndrome.
Part of why we host this annual event is to learn more about the inspiring families that fight every day to make the best life for their children who’ve experienced numerous medical challenges. This year, Kim Arnold and her daughter Addie, shared their genuine story about the journey of their lives in dealing with Addie’s various medical issues that manifest with Down syndrome. Guests also heard from Dr. Tom Smith and how he and the other medical professionals at Children’s Hospital take a collaborative approach to give Addie the best possible coordinated care as a family versus as a single patient. Without a doubt, the night’s highlight was seeing Addie’s inner light shine through in the most brilliant smile and listening to her singing the children’s song from Disney’s Frozen, “Let It Go.”
The annual event is part of our effort to support the Wheels of Justice Cycling goal of $400,000 for 2018, and a lifetime fundraising effort of over $4 million. Amber Dunlap from Wheels of Justice stated, “We are so grateful that Michael Lopez and the LSI team have included Wheels of Justice in their family. Michael’s years-long passion about the cause and his support for the team is what makes this party a huge success.” Michael Lopez, LSI CEO, said that his favorite part isn’t the fundraising itself, but seeing the “welcoming and vibrant community of friends and family that stand behind this awesome cause.” After the event, we were grateful to have several of the guests ask how to be part of this wonderful charity.
Thank you to everyone that made this a unique event, from the Wheels of Steel specialty drink crafted by the Epernay staff to the numerous new friends we made, and most of all to Children’s Hospital who give hope and support to all the families in a time of need.
